Geotagging
Geotagging is a great idea, however for me, TOO MUCH WORK. Maybe I'm lazy but it's not something I was fond of. However, I do do geotagging on my Mac computer at home, when I add pictures it do the State, town, etc. Flickr's geotagging was not hard to use, but I feel that it was just unnecessary for me (personal opinion). Geotagging on my Mac is way easier and the only reason I do it is for my own references. Professionally however I believe Geotagging is a great source, it's almost like giving credit to the place, plus it's good to know those details in a profession if you want people to be interested in your work.
Podcasts
I went to two different sites, Minnesota's Public Radio's (since we live in Minnesota:)) and the Scotchcast (it sounded cool). I found them both quite easy to use, however, I will definitely use Minnesota's Public Radio's more often. Im not big in subscribing myself to things, but maybe in the future this is something I would like to do!
I believe Walt Whitman would be too good to podcast. haha. Classic!
Productivity Tools
The one tool that will be most useful for me is calenders! I live off of calenders and personal organizers. Stikkit is one that I will now use often. Backpack was nice to learn, but not something I'll use often, however, once in a while possibly.
Tagging.
Tagging is used in all sorts of things life Flickr, Facebook, etc, even on all macs when saving your photos! It is an easy way to seperate photos into groups organized by specific people, it also (in facebook) tags people so that they get the pictures too. Its a super tool to use and VERY helpful. It is used as bookmarks, but can also be used as research I suppose, depending on what it is you plan on researching. The only thing I can think of is for specific ppl. It is also another way to give credit to everyone involved in the hoto: who took it, who's in it, etc.
Slide Share
Slideshare is a great place to make a "portfolio" if you want to call it that. You can make slides of all of your images and show your work in categories! Great tool! What's even better is that it is easy to understand and use all the tools in Slide Share.
This is definitely something I would recommend to friends or anyone else as a way of making slides from photos they want to share.
Other than this, I think facebook is the best way to share your work/photos because sooo many people are already involved in it, and you can comment, "like", and just look at soo many others work.
Flicker Jigsaw Puzzle:)
After uploading some photo's to Flickr I used one of them to create a jigsaw puzzle!! However since they wanted me to pay for it I only played around with it then had to discard it, BUT it was fun!
Flicker is nice when wanting to get your work out there/shown. Really, if you wanted, you could even upload non-pictures as long as the saved file is on the desktop you can upload them to flicker and show all your other work as well!
Im not one to worry about ppl stealing/using my pictures because I'm definitely not a professional so if someone likes them then I'm flattered! However, I would like the credit of course.
